103.1 JACK fm’s Jackyard BBQ’s CONTEST RULES

  1. (a) To enter during the “Contest Period”, starting at 12:01 a.m. PT on Monday, July 7th, 2010, go to http://www.1031jackfm.ca/, and sign up to the JACKAHOLICS CLUB via link and fully complete the sign up information, redeem 1000 Points and submit before Sunday, August 22nd, 2010, at 11:59 p.m. PT (the “Contest Closing Date”).

No purchase, expenditure or investment is necessary to enter this Contest. To enter this Contest without redeeming 1000 Points online, hand print your name, address, day and evening phone numbers, email address, age, and a hand written 100 word essay explaining why you would like to win 103.1 JACK fm’s Jackyard BBQ from Crash and mail it to “103.1 JACK fm’s Jackyard BBQ CONTEST”, 817 Fort Street, Victoria, BC, V8W 1H6 to be received before the Contest Closing Date. You will receive one (1) entry into the Contest during the entry period for which your request was postmarked and received. Limit of one (1) mail-in request per postage stamped envelope per day.

(b) 1 winner will be randomly drawn on Monday July 19th, July 26th, August 2nd, August 9th, August 16th, and August 23rd by a 103.1 JACK fm ("Rogers") representative, from all eligible entries received as of the Contest Closing Date, at the Rogers office - 817 Fort Street, Victoria, BC, V8W 1H6. The selected entrants will be contacted by phone or email at the number or email address listed on their entry form/mail in entry.
(c) If a selected entrant cannot be reached by
4:30pm on Monday July 19th, July 26th, August 2nd, August 9th, August 16th, and August 23rd, incorrectly answers the skill testing question, or declines the prize, another winner will be randomly drawn.
 (d) You may enter as often as you wish provided you redeem 1000 Points for each entry.  If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The individual assigned to the e-mail address for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address is considered the authorized account holder. A selected entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the selected entry. All entries must be submitted from a valid e-mail account that may be identified by reverse domain name search. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of receipt of a valid entry in this Contest will be the Contest server machine(s).

  1. Participants will be eligible to win one (1) Jackyard BBQ grand prize valued at ($800). The Jackyard BBQ consists of 2 Jack FM Staff on site at your home from 1:00pm – 3:00pm on the selected date of the BBQ and they will bring.

Rogers and 103.1 JACKFM is not responsible for any injuries, harm, damage to property, or illegal activity which occurs to/or from your guest during the Jackyard BBQ.  Rogers and 103.1 JACKFM is not responsible for transportation of guests to/or from your Jackyard BBQ.  It is your responsibility to ensure your guest do not drink and drive, are not over served alcohol, and that they are age of majority.  Guests below the age of majority must be announced before the Jackyard party and will not be permitted to consume alcohol.  Standard liquor laws apply during your Jackyard BBQ.

 

  1. (a) In order to win, selected entrants must first correctly answer, unaided, a time limited, mathematical skill testing question, posed by telephone at a mutually convenient time.

(b) Rogers judges' rulings are final and without appeal in all matters related to the Contest and the awarding of prizes.

  1. Selected entrants will be required to return a signed release and acknowledgment form before being declared a winner.
  2. By entering this Contest, each entrant consents to the use of her entry, name, address, voice and/or photograph in any publicity carried out by Rogers Broadcasting Limited and/or its advertising agencies, without further compensation. Winner consents to his/her photograph being taken by Rogers for such use, without further compensation. All entries become the property of Rogers.
  3. This Contest is open to all residents of southern Vancouver Island (Duncan and south) in B.C., 19 years of age and older as of the date of entry, except employees of Rogers, its parent and affiliate companies; its representatives and agents, the Contest suppliers, any persons residing in their respective households [1] and any immediate family members [2].  The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.
  4. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrants. To receive a copy of the Contest rules or names of the winners, send a postage paid, self-addressed envelope on or before Saturday August 28th, 2010, to 103.1 JACK fm, 817 Fort Street, Victoria, BC, V8W 1H6.   5. Chances of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Rogers is unaware of how many entrants there may be. The winners may come from any geographic area, so long as they otherwise qualify to enter this Contest.
  6. All entries which are incomplete, illegible, damaged, irregular, have been submitted through illicit means, or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of the rules may be disqualified by Rogers. Rogers takes no responsibility for lost, misdirected, late or destroyed entries, or for typographical or other production errors.
  7. All entries become property of Rogers who assumes no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected entries or for failure of the Internet or Rogers network during this Contest period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, cell sites, microwave dish, antenna, switch, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any communication or traffic congestion on the Rogers or other network, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant's or any other person's wireless device or personal computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading or sending any material in this Contest. Rogers reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the online or email portion of this Contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of Rogers corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any equipment or system or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Rogers reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
  8. Rogers is collecting personal data about entrants for the sole purpose of administering this Contest. No further informational or marketing communications will be received by the entrant unless the entrant provides Rogers with explicit permission to do so at the time of entry.   9. This Contest will be run in accordance with these rules, subject to amendment by Rogers. Entrants must comply with these rules, and will be deemed to have received and understood the rules if they participate in the Contest.
  10. The terms of this Contest, as set out in these rules, are not subject to amendment or counter-offer, except as set out herein.

[1] Household is defined as a separate, self-contained residence which has a unique municipal address.   Proof may be required to be provided to ensure compliance with this rule.   Rogers in its sole discretion will determine whether a household meets this condition.
